Living in such difficult times, where the world is indoctrinated by the West, the 'system'; where you go to school, high school, college, university and then to a life of 9 -5 - all of this facilitate the economic 'interest' based model. I do not want to go into full analysis of that system (I am in no position to do so), as it pretty much sucks, bad and needs to be revolutionised all together. What I would like to touch on is the effect of that interest based system, the things I have come to notice, more so the effect on the individual which at large affect a community and hence a nation.
People are becoming inadvertently all about me, myself and I - because that is what the economic system makes people become, 'Oh I need pay my mortgage', 'Oh I need to work long hours, to make ends meet', 'oh so I don't have time to something for the community, I don't even have time for my children!', that is pretty much the case until the individual realises they have fewer days ahead to look ahead to, and so it is time to 'give back'.
So when push comes to shove, one easily sees it's a question of death. People are so caught up in the hierarchical systems at work, living life to the max, 'work hard, play hard' attitudes that basic characteristics and mannerisms are being forgotten; the rights of parents, neighbors, elderly etc.- this is a responsibility on all individuals.
I asked myself recently, a small cliche, what if I were to go to the doctors to only be told I had 3 months left?
All of a sudden life priorities have changed...so the next question burns inside; people already know this stuff, so what? the world is still a bad place - and then I saw it, people are just too infested in life, family & friends etc. And soon we begin to see the competition game taking place; how people appear in society -> again most of the times for the wrong materialistic reasons.
In the end it all leads to, what is the purpose of life? Many a people will claim they know it, I beg to argue have they discovered it? Living in current times, the economic system does not allow the individual to be empowered and proactive to find their place and role in society. For this reason I think the cost of western civilisation will only get worse.
